Review of American Pacific Bank Gold Mastercard

The American Pacific Bank Gold Mastercard was last reviewed on : 8th March 2005

Summary - The American Pacific Bank Gold Mastercard is a step up from the visa classic.

Though there is no annual fee for the first year, the annual fee on subsequent years is $35.00 The APR is 3% lower than the visa classic at 13.92%. The American Pacific Bank Gold Mastercard gives a 25 day grace period and uses the average daily balance method (including new purchase) of calculating balances.

American Pacific Bank also states clearly and comprehensively on their website the criteria for one to apply for this credit card. The criteria to get a gold mastercard is more stringent than the visa classic. You need a monimum income off $50,000 or joint income of $70,000, a debt to income ratio of no more than 30% plus others (which you can find on their website).

I find nothing outstanding about the American Pacific Bank Gold MasterCard. There is even an annual fee of $35.00 (though they waive the first years fee). The APR is also high (though lower than the visa classic). If you are among those that pay your credit card bills fully every month and have a good credit score, then you should consider either reward credit cards or cash rebate credit cards with no annual fee.
